Count VVPATS, as KCR may tamper EVMs: Vanteru urges EC

To move court, take up fast unto death

Hyderabad Dec 8 (): Congress Kutami candidate Vanteru Prathap Reddy on Saturday threatened to move court and will take up fast unto death protest, if the EC failed to count his Gajwel segment votes polled in VVPATS against the EVMs. He alleged that his rival and caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao might use power to tamper EVMs in the TRS favour. Reddy sought that the Election Commission should take up counting of votes polled in VVPATS instead of counting the votes polled in EVMs in Dec 7 polls.

The congress leader met CEO Rajat Kumar at Secretariat on Saturday and complained that his rival and caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao might use power to tamper EVMs in the TRS favour. Later he told press persons that KCR and TRS leadership may use power to change votes in their favour and sought the EC steps. Reddy stated that he will move the court and also take up the protest if the EC officials did not take steps in this regard.
