Governor asks ISTA 2019 conclave to plan to double farmers’ income

Hyderabad June 28 (): Governor ESL Narasimhan on Friday asked ISTA 2019 meet to make efforts to ensure that the farmers income is doubled. Situation of the farmers is not that good and farm scientists, experts and officials to formulate a mechanism in this regard, he suggested.

The Governor participated as a chief guest at international seed conference ISTA 2019 at HICC here. Agriculture Minister S Niarnjan Reddy and state farm coordination chairman G Sukhender Reddy and others were present. Narasimhan has called upon the gathering that the outcome should give result to enhance the income of the farmers in distress.

The Governor exuded confidence that the conclave of the international level will usher in a new era of formulating an impeccable plan of action to help farmers get more income.

Indian is agrarian state largely relies on farming activity, although the farmers who give food to all of us are deprived of finances and timely support of MSP if not remunerative price, he felt.

There is a need to use latest technologies and world practices of agriculture to boost its production using quality seeds.
