With Governors, AP Counterpart Jagan, KCR will launch “Telangana Lifeline” Kaleshwaram project

Hyderabad June 20 (): Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project will be launched by  Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on June 21 at an auspicious time followed by ritual of 2 hours of “Homam” from 8 am to 10 am in Jayashankar Bhupalapally district.

It is considered lifeline for Telangana as it caters to irrigation and drinking water needs alike. About 45 lakh acres will be brought under irrigation and quench the thirst of districts according to information. The government estimated the total cost at Rs 81000 cr and then added Rs 11000 cr as the project cost for the works.

Governor ESL Narasimhan, Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Reddy are in the list of dignitaries to be gracing the occasion of mega commissioning of the project. KCR will inaugurate it at Kannepally pump house and Medigadda barrage.

The government has pressed in five helicopters to shift the invitees from their places to the site. The Telangana Government redesigned to get more waters by renaming as Kaleshwaram the previous Pranahita-Chevella project.

On Thursday, Health Minister Etala Rajender inspected the arrangements for the mega launch of the Kaleshwaram project along with officials. He said that the VIPs will take helicopters to reach the site.
